Patrick Toole

Patrick (Pat) Toole has been in the real estate business for over 50 years. A native of Calgary, Pat started his real estate career in 1948, working for Clair Cote Real Estate and Investments.

In 1951, Pat married Patricia Kelly and they eventually had nine children together.

In 1958, Pat left Clair Cote Real Estate and Investments to work for Toole Peet Real Estate, which was not owned or founded by any relation of Pat Toole. After four years, Pat partnered with Clair Cote Jr. to form P.J. Toole & Cote Real Estate Ltd. In 1966, Pat's brother John joined the partnership, and the firm became one of the largest in Calgary. Pat remained president and co-owner of the company until he retired in 2001. His daughter Maureen is also a REALTOR®, now working for Prudential Toole Peet.

Aside from his commercial success, Pat Toole has played a tremendous role in organized real estate, at all three levels. He was the president of the Calgary Real Estate Board in 1967, the Second Vice-President of the of the Alberta Real Estate Association in 1974, the president of the Alberta Real Estate Association in 1974, and the director of the Canadian Real Estate Association in 1976. He was named an Honourary Life Member of the Alberta Real Estate Association in 1979, and an Honourary Life Member of the Calgary Real Estate Board in 1980.
