Elementary Lesson Plans

The following lesson plans for elementary students can be used to meet a variety of curriculum objectives.

  • Lesson 1: "Lives of the Famous 5 and Women in Canada" is designed to stimulate learning about women's lives around the early twentieth century and their struggle for equality.
     

  • Lesson 2: "Why We Remember" focuses on the contributions of each of the Famous 5 to achieving this equality
     .

  • Lesson 3: "Casting the Vote" emphasizes the importance of citizens' right to vote, which the Famous 5 helped achieve for women.
