Amisk Lake

Category : Lake

The name of the lake was recorded by the DLS in 1910 and is likely descriptive of the animal found in the area. This is further evidenced by the fact that the Amisk River flows into the Beaver River sixty-five kilometres to the east. Amisk River was noted as “Little Beaver River” on a 1916 map. Amisk is the Cree word for “beaver.”
