Cascade Rapids

These rapids on the Athabasca River are a major obstacle to navigation and were apparently known as nepe kabatekik or "where the water falls." The name was recorded by the Geological Survey of Canada in 1892.

On the Athabasca River approximately 25km west south-west of Fort McMurray.
