Cattalo Bridge

Category : Bridge

This bridge was built across Ribstone Creek in the 1950s by the Department of National Defence and is named after the Cattalo (buffalo-shorthorn hybrid) that were still being bred there at that time in order to take advantage of the best qualities of both the male buffalo and the domestic cow. All the bulls that were derived of this experiment, however, grew to be sterile and production was discontinued in Buffalo Park.

Approximately 22 km south south-east of the town of Wainwright.
