Cabinet

Executive Council, also known as the Cabinet, is comprised of the Premier, as President of the Executive Council and those individuals the Premier selects from amongst elected government members to serve as Ministers.

Cabinet is the corporate framework within which members of the Executive Council undertake the various activities associated with their collective Ministerial responsibility. In addition to the legal responsibilities associated with passing Orders-in-Council, Cabinet ratifies policy matters and is also the final authority on a wide range of strategic issues associated with the day-to-day operation of Government. The Cabinet appointed on March 19, 2001, consists of 24 Ministers, including the Premier.
