Members vote aye or no to Bills at the end of each stage. Usually the voice vote
decides the outcome, but members may want their vote recorded when there has been
heated debate. To ask for a recorded vote, members stand up after the Speaker announces the results of the voice vote. If three or more members stand, the division
bells are rung, summoning any members who are not in the Chamber. They have
ten minutes to arrive and then the vote is recorded member by member.
