Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP)

Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) represents 150 member companies who explore, develop, and produce Canada's natural gas, crude oil, oil sands, and elemental sulphur. CAPP works with members, stakeholders, communities, and governments on oil and gas issues in Canada and internationally. They also gain consensus on industry codes of practice and operational guidelines. The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers promotes public policy and regulatory efficiency, provides industry information including statistics, research, and development, and acts as a media contact on industry issues. CAPP’s central concerns are to promote stewardship of the environment, and encourage advocacy for their members in all areas of the industry including health and safety. By working closely with the community, landowners, Aboriginal leaders, and government agencies, CAPP hopes to improve access to resources for the community and industry. Working with these groups fosters communication on issues associated with the petroleum industry. Internationally, the Association promotes policies that encourage petroleum exploration and development in Canada. The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers strives to keep Canada’s oil and gas industry competitive and vital in the world market.
