Settlements at Nobleford, Monarch and Granum received the earliest Dutch immigrants to Alberta.  These rural settlements were important to the Dutch presence in Alberta. In establishing institutions such as the Christian Reformed church, the Dutch language and elements of its culture were maintained for following generations.  As well, when Dutch immigrants arrived in the 1920s, 1950s and 1960s, these rural communities were focal points for new-arrivals.  Here we present the story of Nobleford, near Lethbridge.
