Description: Lyman Crittenden Davidson, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 14th April, 1908; 6 years. Filed 2nd August, 1907. Receipt No. 149,888.

Claim.—1. In an automatic display sign, the combination of a plurality of sprocket wheels, endless bands of sheet material mounted thereupon, rods extending from one of said bands to another, holders mounted upon said rods and depending therefrom, a guard for restraining said holders when the latter are subjected to the action of centrifugal force, means for actuating said sprocket wheels step-by-step, and means for securing cards upon said holders.

2. The combination of bands, rods connecting said bands together and movable therewith, and holders provided with portions bent over so as to partially encircle said rods to form bearings, said holders thus hanging from said rods and being provided with means for securing cards thereupon, and a guard for restraining said holders when the latter are acted upon by centrifugal force.

3. The combination of a step-by-step motor, gearing driven thereby, bands propelled by said gearing, means for supporting advertising matter upon said bands, a casing provided with a window located adjacent to the point where an advertisement stops after each step-by-step movement of said bands, and a guard disposed adjacent to said window for maintaining said advertising matter in a predetermined position when said advertising matter is subjected to the action of centrifugal force.
