Description: Joseph Tymkow, Peter Jacobs and Mike Senyk, assignee of one-fourth of the interest, all of Ardrossan, Alberta, Canada, 1st April, 1924. Filed 27th August, 1923. Serial No. 279,993.

Claim.—1. In a device of the class described, a base, a shaft rotatably supported above said base, a wheel keyed to said shaft, a second base, a stub shaft rotatably supported thereabove, a hub mounted on the stub shaft, radia spokes secured to said hub, blocks pivotaliy connected to said spokes encircling the spokes of said wheel, a car rotatably connected to each block, and means for connecting the first-mentioned rotatable shaft with a source of power for driving the same to cause said care to travel in an arcuate path.

3. In a device of the class described, a base, a shaft rotatably supported above said base, a wheel keyed to said shaft, a second base, a stub shaft rotatably supported thereabove, a hub mounted on said stub shaft, radial spokes pivotally connected to said hub, a block rotatably connected to each spoke slidably engaging one of the spokes of said wheel, a car rotatably connected to each block, means for connecting the first-mentioned rotatable shaft with a source of power for driving said wheel to cause said cars to travel in an arcuate path, and means for moving the second-mentioned base in respect to the first for causing the blocks to reciprocate upon the spokes of said wheel during the rotation of the latter.

5. In a device of the class described, a base, a shaft rotatably supported above said base, a wheel keyed to said shaft, a box-like structure formed integrally with said base, a second base slidably mounted in said box-like structure, a feed screw journalled in said box-like structure opera lively engaging the second base for causing movement of the latter, a stub shaft rotatably supported above the second base, a hub mounted on said stub shaft, radial spokes pivotally connected to said hub, a block rotatably connected to each spoke slidably engaging one of the spokes of said wheel, a car rotatably connected to each block, means for connecting the first-mentioned rotatable shaft with a source of power for driving said wheel to cause said cars to travel in an arcuate path, and means for moving the second-mentioned base in respect to the first for causing the stub shaft to be moved laterally out of axial alignment with the first-mentioned rotatable shaft for causing the blocks to reciprocate upon the spokes of said wheel during the rotation of the same, said means consisting of said feed screw.
