Description: Charrue a briser la terre.

Frank Van Slyke, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, 15th March, 1910; 6 years. Filed 20th August, 1909. Receipt No. 173,540.

Claim.—1. A plough having a coulter inclined laterally ftway from the plane of the landside of the plough.

2. The combination with a plough having a plough beam. of a bracket extended laterally away from the beam, and n coulter connected thereto inclined laterally away from the plane of the landside of the plough.

3. A plough having a coulter inclined laterally away from the plane of the landside of the plough in combination with a supplemental ploughshare extending laterally from the lower edge of the landside to undercut the furrows.

4. A plough having a supplemental ploughshare extending laterally from the lower edge of the landside to under cut the furrows.

5. The combination with a plough having a plough beam, of a bracket extending laterally away from the beam and a coulter connected thereto inclined away from the plane of the landside of the plough, the said coulter comprising an upper part adjustably secured to the bracket and a lower part detachably secured to the upper part.

6. In a plough the combination of a beam, a truck provided with a land wheel and a furrow wheel guides adjustable laterally on the truck, slides connected to the beam and vertically movable on said guides, a layer carried by the truck, and means whereby the lever is adapted to raise and lower the beam.

7. In a plough the combination of the beam, a truck provided with a land wheel and a furrow wheel, means for vertically and independently adjusting the wheels, vertical guides adjustable laterally on the truck, slides connected to the beam and vertically movable on said guides, a lever carried by the truck and means wherein the lever is adapted to raise and lower the beam.

8. In a plough the combination of a truck, two spindles journalled vertically on said truck, a land wheel furrow wheel journalled at the lower ends of said spindles, arm extending out from said spindles. a coupling bar connecting said arms, a steering arm connected to one of the aforesaid arms, a plough beam and suitable connections between the beam and truck preventing the one swinging relative to the other.

9. In a plough the combination of a truck, two spindles journalled vertically on said truck, means for vertically adjusting said spindles, a land wheel and a furrow wheel journalled at the lower ends of said spindles, arms extending out from said spindles, a coupling bar connecting said arms, a steering arm connected to one of aforesaid arms, a plough beam and suitable connections between the beam and truck preventing the one swinging relative to the other.

10. In a plough the combination of a truck, two spindles journalled vertically on said truck, a land wheel and a furrow wheel journalled at the lower ends of said spindle, arms extending out from said spindles, a coupling bar connecting said arms, a steering arm connected to one of the aforesaid arms, a plough beam, and means for securing said beam to the truck so that it may be raised and lowered thereon without permitting a relative swinging movement of the two.

11. In a plough the combination of a truck, two spindles journalled vertically on said truck, means for vertically adjusting said spindles, a land wheel and a furrow wheel journalled at the lower ends of said spindles, arms extending out from said spindles, a coupling bar connecting said arms, a steering arm connected to one of the aforesaid arms, a plough beam, and means for securing said beam to the truck so that it may be raised and lowered thereon without permitting a relative swinging of the two.
