Webster's Dictionary defines "chickenfeed" as slang for "an insignificant amount of money". All the families we grew up with survived the Depression on an insignificant amount of money. However, I think we are the only family that can truly boast we survived the Dirty Thirties on "chickenfeed", thanks to Dad, and Radium Laying Mash.
