Inventor: Davies, Stanley J.

Location: Calgary

Comments: see above

Description: Issued June 3, 1958

Stanley J. Davies, Calgary, Alberta, Canada Application June 22, 1955, Serial No. 688,232.
5 Claims—No drawing.

1. A. process for transporting in a natural gas transmission pipe line hydrocarbons of higher molecular weight by injecting into the compressed gas stream in the pipe line particles of an adsorbent of natural or synthetic origin to which the said hydrocarbons will adsorb when introduced into the pipe line and be carried in a gaseous state.

2. A process as defined in claim 1 in which the hydrocarbons of higher molecular weight to be carried are ethane, propane, butane, or isobutane.

3. A process as defined in claim 1 in which the adsorbent is particles of activated carbon.

4. A process as defined in claim 1 in which the heat required to maintain the particles of adsorbent in suspension in the natural gas stream is derived from compression stations located at intervals along the pipe line.
