Signer Family

Gordon Signer entered the real estate industry in Calgary in 1945, after serving in the Canadian Armed Forces during World War Two. He started out as a salesman with Stuart Green Properties. Two years later, he founded his own company, Sig Bar. However, the company became too big for his taste, so he opened up Gordon Signer Realty. The residential real estate company was a great success, and in 1973, with Bob Nissen, he started Exclusive Home Sales.

Shortly after returning from the war, Gordon married Helen. Helen also joined the real estate industry in 1974, and made the MLS Million Dollar Club in only three months. In fact, the entire Signer family has been involved in real estate. Daughter Rosalee Krygier, and her son Brad, sell real estate. Rosalee was president of the Calgary Real Estate Board in 2002, and has been on several committees. She was also on the Board of Directors from 1998 to 2004.

The small Signer company still continues to thrive.
