  • 41 MEAT MARKET, 1910
    This two-storey brick and sandstone building was originally built for Swift Canadian Meats during Fort Macleod's boom period.

    The A. Young Drugstore was the first brick commercial block on Fort Macleod's main street.

  • ALLEN (PALACE) THEATRE
    Barney Allen and his two sons, Jules and Jay, found the first big international movie theatre circuit in 1906; it was Canadian, based in Brantford, Ontario. In 1909 they made Calgary their base of operations and opened the Allen (Strand) Theatre on 8th Avenue SE.
  • ANDERTON BLOCK AND HORSESHOE LIQUOR STORE, 1909
    The Anderton Block was completed in 1909 by the prominent local contractor James S. Lambert.
  • ARLINGTON HOTEL
    The Arlington Hotel was erected in 1899 by Thomas P. Ellis on the site of the former Queen's Hotel, and remained under continuous family ownership until 1969.
  • ARMSTRONG BLOCK
    Reginald and Herbert Armstrong built the Armstrong Block as a speculative venture.
  • ARNOLD AND ARNOLD LAW OFFICE
    Built in 1891, this building is one of the oldest wood-frame structures in High River.
