    On this site, in August 1948, Royalite Oil Company of Turner Valley pioneered the water injection technique for the enhancement of oil recovery through the raising of underground pressure in old or otherwise weak producing pools.
  • BAWTINHEIMER RESIDENCE
    Mr. Bawtinheimer arranged for the construction of this two-and-a-half storey Cube style residence in 1906.
  • BAWTINHEIMER/ DUPLEX BUILDING
    This modest commercial brick building caused some interest when it was constructed during the summer of 1911 by Bawtinheimer & Sons to house their second butcher shop in the Red Deer area to cater to the residents of North Red Deer

    Grande Prairie residents shared in the enthusiasm for Nordic sports that swept Canada following the war. On February 15, 1920, a new ski club opened in Grande Prairie.
  • BELLEVUE CAFE
    The Bellevue Cafe built in 1917 by Joe Mah became famous as the scene of a shoot¬out between police and train robbers in August of 1920.
  • BELLEVUE INN
    This building was constructed in 1921 by the West Canadian Collieries Company to replace the first Bellevue Hotel which had burned to the ground in the 1917 fire.
  • BELLEVUE MINE
    The Bellevue Mine of West Canadian Collieries went into production in 1904.
  • BEVERIDGE BLOCK
    The Beveridge Block is another of the many fine pre-war commercial buildings in downtown Medicine Hat to have been designed by architect William T. Williams.
  • BINNING HOUSE
    Bertram C. Binning built this house for approximately $3,500 in 1909-10, and lived in it until his death in 1945.
  • BIRKS BUILDING
    The Birks Building was designed by Nobbs and Hyde, an architectural firm of national significance. Percy Nobbs, who collaborated with Cecil Burgess on the Birks Building, also designed the original master plan for the University of Alberta.
