La liste des pensionnats indiens en Alberta

Des listes d’écoles résidentielles autochtones se trouvent sur plusieurs sites sur la toile, y comprenant Wikipedia, Assembly of First Nations et Avis autorisé par le Tribunal. Tous on des informations au sujet de l’emplacement de l’école, les dates d’ouverture et de fermeture et les congrégations religieuses qui en assuraient le fonctionnement. Il faut savoir les écoles résidentielles sont à l’origine une création du Gouvernement du Canada, et ceci avant 1879. Plusieurs dénominations religieuses avaient des écoles à des missions avant cette date, mais elle ne sont pas considérées être des écoles résidentielles. Ainsi, la liste qui suit comprend des erreurs à cet égard, et dans d’autres domaines aussi. La liste pour l’Alberta est basée sur des informations venant de sources catholiques et oblates et les siteweb de l’Église anglicane et de l’Église unie du Canada.
