This hill has been a favourite berry-picking spot for local residents of the area for many years. There once were many blueberries growing here though the numbers have diminished over the years. The name also may be due to the fact that the top of the hill is covered with a plant which largely resembles a blueberry plant. There is some local use of the name "Big Hill."
