Arcadia

The Edmonton, Dunvegan and British Columbia Railway station was established here in 1914. The records of the railway state it is named "after the literal meaning of the word rurally simple." Arcadia is a mountain district in the Grecian area of Peleponnesus, and is seen as an ideal rustic paradise. The name was likely chosen by the railway as a promotional one extolling the virtues of the farmland to prospective settlers. |
