Officially approved in 1966, this locality across the Athabasca River from Point Brule, was named after a trapper who, for many years, had his home at this site. This location was originally called Point Brule, but in order to avoid confusion with the community across the river, its current name was chosen.

Approximately 139 km north of Fort McMurray.
