Blueberry Hill

Category : Hill

Blueberry Mountain was a name well established and in common use when the Dominion Land Surveyors first came through the area in the early 1910s. According to the local history of the area, the name is a translation of the aboriginal name for the feature. It was the aboriginal peoples who first knew the area around the hill to be rich in blueberries. The name which finally given to the feature was Blueberry Hill, since its elevation of 762 metres did not qualify it as a mountain.

Approximately 80 km north-west of Grande Prairie.
