Williamson Lake Provincial Park

Alexander Williamson, born in Aberdeen in 1882, was an area landowner. He served at sea before coming to Canada in 1910. After working at several jobs, he settled in the Sturgeon Heights area in the early 1910s, bringing his family from Scotland. In honour of his life-long work in the area, the 17-hectare provincial park was named after him when it was established in 1960.

Approximately 80 km east of Grande Prairie.
