Blue Grouse Basin

The Blue Grouse is a large, slate-coloured bird found only in the foothills and mountains of Alberta. The intriguing annual movement of the Blue Grouse includes wintering at high altitudes and migrating to the lower slopes for the breeding season. The name was officially approved by the Canadian Permanent Committee on Geographical Names 27 April 1972.

Approximately 45 km south of Pincher Creek.
