The name for this railway point is likely due to the feature's proximity to Drumheller and Dinosaur Provincial Park. The provincial park encloses one of the most extensive and productive sources of Cretaceous dinosaur fossils in the world. Over seventy million years ago, this area provided a fertile habitat for dinosaurs.

Approximately 42 km east south-east of Three Hills.
