Oliver

This locality is now a subdivision of Edmonton and was named in 1905 after the Honourable Frank Oliver (1853-1933), Commissioner of the Board of Railway Commissioners from 1923 to 1928. He was Minister of the Interior in the Laurier Cabinet from 1905 through 1911. Oliver was elected to the Northwest Territories Legislature in 1888 and after serving eight years in that assembly, was elected to the House of Commons. He was the publisher of the Edmonton Bulletin from 1880 to 1923.

Approximately 14 km north-east of Edmonton.
