Karst Springs

Karst is a geological term referring to pure limestone rock which is slowly eroded by water, forming incredible shapes and canyons. Karst topography includes springs, sinkholes, and underground streams. This spring is located in such a limestone formation. The water flows to the surface with considerable force and volume in approximately a 3 m wide area. Moss growth covers much of the surrounding area. The descriptive name for this spring was officially approved 12 December 1984.

Approximately 82 km west of Calgary.
