Edworthy Falls

Category : Falls

These two small waterfalls on the Upper Elbow River are named after George Edworthy, (1899-1978) who discovered them in 1929 while on a pack trip into the Kananaskis region. George Edworthy at that time referred to the falls as "Desolation Falls." The names "Desolation Falls" and "Desolation Flats" did not, however, become established in local usage. The name Edworthy Falls was made official 29 July 1986.
