51 Lake

This lake is called 51 Lake for its location at mile 251 along the Northern Alberta Railways line. It is one of four lakes in the area that takes its name from mileage on the railway tracks. Officially named in 1991 after field research determined the name to be well established and in local use.

Approximately 53 km south-east of Fort McMurray.
