I'm sure you already know that dinosaurs were large reptiles that lived on earth a long, long time ago. You can see them in movies like Jurassic Park or go to a museum to see their bones. Alberta has a protected area called Dinosaur Provincial Park located around Drumheller.
Dinosaur Provincial Park was declared a UN World Heritage Site in 1979 because of its location in the Badlands, a stretch of non-arable desertlike land in Southern Alberta; the endangered river habitat along the Red Deer River; and the diverse paleontological (fossil) record of the dinosaurs left in the area.
