Forest Inventories

When you take an inventory you are counting things and making a list. A forest inventory happens when scientists collect information on things like: tree age, tree height, what types of plants are around, and how much a forest will grow and how fast. This information is put on a list and used to help loggers figure out how many trees they can cut down each year.
