Les écoles residentielles/Residential Education: Residential Schooling at Fort Chipewyan and Fort Resolution 1874-1974 – This article explores the complex issue of residential schools in both a historical and contemporary context. Carney presents the intent behind the theory and formation of the schools (“the Native-Wilderness Equation”) and the conflict between the native-centred Oblate view and the federal government regulations. - (English)
Gilles Cadrîn, VI. The Material Past/Le patrimoine materiel: Émile Legal: de l’architecture des missions à l’architecture monumentale – This article explores Bishop Legal’s role as an “architect-builder.” The author explores Legal’s role in the design and building of various mission structures and churches in Alberta. His greatest work, though not completed, was the Cathedral of Saint-Albert. (Français)
