Moberly Flats

James Hector of the Palliser expedition named the flats in 1858. Henry John Moberly (1835–1931) was born in Penetanguishene, Upper Canada (now Ontario). He entered the service of the HBC in 1854 as a clerk and served at Jasper House post between 1855 and 1861, the time Hector was exploring in the area.
