Marten Mountain

Category : Hill

The GSC noted the name for this hill in 1890. Some sources have stated this set of features, including the creek and lakes, was named for an old-timer in the area. Because the name predates organized settlement, it might also refer to the prevalence of the member of the weasel family, also known as “sable,” which was highly prized for its fur. The area is perfect marten habitat and well within marten range.

Elevation Height : 1,009 m.
National Topographic System (NTS) : 83 O/7
