Bankhead

The town of Bankhead grew out of the coal industry. The Canadian Pacific Railway founded the town in 1903. It was named in 1905 by Lord Strathcona (see Banff), after Bankhead, Banffshire, Scotland. This boom town became a ghost town circa 1923.

Approximately 3 km north north-east of Banff.
