Bear River

Category : River

In 1879 George Dawson of the Geological Survey of Canada also referred to the river by its Beaver name, Sus-za-ka. However, there is still some discussion whether or not it should be called a river or a creek. The early surveyors did refer to it as a creek, as do local residents today. In 1854, the Fort Dunvegan Hudson's Bay Company post journal refers to it as Bear River.

Flows south-east into Bear Lake approximately 17 km north-west of Grande Prairie.
