Berry Lake

Named after Matt Berry, a bush pilot. He was born in Ontario in 1888. In World War I, he first enlisted in the Wellington Rifles, later transferred to the Royal Flying Corps, and returned to Canada in 1917. Until 1924 he ranched in the Blindman Valley, but was lured back to aviation as a commercial pilot. In 1934 he took part in a search for lost flyers. He joined Canadian Airways that same year. After retiring from active flying, he became involved in the mining business. This lake is one of an number of lakes in the area named after bush pilots.
