Davis Bottom

Named for John Rogers and Samuel Davis who came to the Lethbridge area in 1884 from the United States, and homesteaded some of the land along this river bottom. John was a freighter and Samuel was an entrepreneur who promoted development as he moved about. They spent time in Boulder, Colorado and in northwestern Montana. In 1882, they obtained jobs freighting supplies from Fort Benton to Fort Macleod, and eventually moved to "Coalhurst" (now Lethbridge). |
