Buchan Lake

Officially approved in 1944, it was named by C.B.C. Donnelly, DLS, after an observation plane pilot. In Scotland, Buchan is a region in the north-east of Aberdeenshire (now Grampian). The name comes from the Old Welsh word Buwch, with the added suffix an, and means "place of cows."

Approximately 203 km north north-east of High Level.
