Caribou River

The precise origin of the name of this river is unknown; it is probably descriptive of caribou in the vicinity. The name was recorded as early as 1890 by the Geological Survey of Canada. When J.S. Galletly surveyed the area in 1913, he referred to the feature as "Caribou or Deer River." (see also Caribou Creek)

Flows south into Peace River approximately 75 km east south-east of High Level.
