Merganser Bay

It is likely descriptive of the fish-eating diving duck, Mergus merganser, found in the area. Like many other Canadian residents, these birds like to winter in the southern United States and Northern Mexico. Mergansers return in summer and fly northward to enjoy northern climes, including the Lake Athabasca region. |
