Woodpecker Creek
Category : Creek | |
The name was officially approved in 1953 after field research was conducted. It likely refers to the presence of the bird in the area. A number of species of woodpecker are common in Alberta; and like all of their kin, they perform a valuable service by indulging in their favourite food, wood-boring insects. |
