Centurion Field
Category : Plain | |
This field is used by the Department of National Defence for brigade-sized parades and was officially named in 1970 when the Centurion tank went out of Canadian service. At that time, a concrete and stone memorial was erected on the field commemorating the passing of the Centurion. The British Centurion tank served as Canada's main battle tank for 25 years. Canada tended to rely on armament designs of its allies, often modified to meet Canadian needs. |
