Globe and Angle Valve (Patent No: 344971)
Inventor: Appleby, Elmer Leon Location: Calgary Comments: N/A Description:
I am aware that prior to m invention globe and angle valves have been made in many types. I therefore do not claim such broadly; but
What I do claim as my invention, and desire to secure by letters patent, is-
1) A globe and angle valve of the type described comprising a removable dual faced seat ring with one seat on the inflow side and other seat on the outflow side of the valve diaphragm, lugs on the said ring for its removal by unscrewing, removable valve discs mounted on one stem concentrically with respect to the said seat ring and singly disposed to contact with each face of the said ring, and a distance-piece sleeve separating the said discs to effect dual operation of the valve as a regulating and a shut-off valve.
2) A globe and angle valve of the type described comprising a removable dual faced seat ring with one seat on the inflow side and the other seat on the outflow side of the valve diaphragm, lugs on the said ring for its removal by unscrewing, a spring controlled removable valve disc placed concentrically with respect to the said seat ring and operable by the slidable end of the valve stem, guides within the valve body to ensure proper contact of this disc on its seat, and a removable valve disc mounted on the valve stem concentrically with respect to the said seat ring and disposed to contact with one face of the said seat ring, the said discs effecting dual operation of this valve as a regulating and a shut off valve with all control parts removable through the valve stem opening.
