The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
(1) In a faucet including a screw threaded rotatable operating spindle; a free floating stem engagable within the lower end of said spindle, a resilient sealing valve secured to the lower end of said stem, and friction reducing means between said lower end of said spindle and said sealing valve, said stem being recessed on the lower end thereof, said friction reducing means and upper end of said sealing valve freely engaging in said recess, said friction reducing means taking the form of a substantially rigid planar washer freely surrounding said stem, the diameter of said washer being substantial equal to the diameter of the upper end of said sealing valve.
