Description: Kenneth Bancroft Abernathy, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, 4th January, 1921; 6 years. Filed 5th March, 1920. Receipt No. 323,978.

Claim.—1. A smoking pipe including a main bowl comprising a bottom section having a stem section thereon, and an upper bowl section movable relatively to said bottom section, an auxiliary bowl removably fitting within said bottom bowl section to constitute a removable lining therefore and terminating at the juncture of the bottom and upper main bowl sections, a plate at the juncture of the bottom and upper bowl sections and constituting a cover for said auxiliary bowl, and means on said upper main bowl section at the interior and adjacent to the bottom of said bowl section to engage said plate and hold the latter and the auxiliary bowl in place, said plate having a smoke outlet to the auxiliary bowl and the latter having a smoke outlet to said stem section.

9. A smoking pipe including a main bowl, a removable auxiliary bowl in the bottom portion of said main bowl, and spaced therefrom to form double walls, and a stem section on said main bowl having a smoke passage in communication with the space between said walls, there being a downwardly extending smoke passage within said auxiliary bowl adjacent to the front wall thereof and communicating with the smoke passage of said stem section through said double walls, said main bowl having an air inlet to the space between the same and the removable bowl, and means to control said air inlet.

18. A smoking pipe including a bottom bowl section having a stem section thereon, an upper section hinged to the bottom section, and a clay lining in said hinged bowl section and swingable therewith to and from a position aligned with the bottom section.
