Mobile Convertible Invalid Stretcher (Patent No: 684611)

Description:
The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

(1) A mobile device usable as a stretcher, chair and commode, comprising in combination a supporting framework, ground engaging wheels on said framework, locking means on said framework coacting between said framework and one of said wheels to prevent rotation of said wheels, a convertible articulated stretcher assembly pivotally secured upon said supporting structure, and hydraulic means in said supporting structure operatively connected to said stretcher assembly and adapted to move said stretcher assembly from the prone position to the sitting position and vice versa, said articulated stretcher assembly including a back portion, a center portion, and a foot supporting portion hingedly connected together in articulated relationship, said back portion being pivotally connected substantially medially along the length thereof, to the rear of said framework, and linkage connecting and supporting said center portion to said hydraulic means, and means coacting between said center portion and said foot supporting portion to lock said portions together in the desired angular relationship within limits, said pivotal connection of said back portion to said rear framework being adjustable vertically within limits.

(2) The device according to Claim 1 in which said center portion is apertured centrally to form a commode when in the sitting position.
