Claim.—In a wrench in combination with a stationary jaw having a handle extending therefrom, a casing mounted thereon, a movable jaw including a jaw member and a shank extending through and slidable in the casing, a pawl, pivoted in the back of the handle within the said casing engaging teeth formed upon the said shank, a coiled spring between the said pawl and the handle to maintain contact between the pawl and the teeth upon the shank, a suitable stop formed upon the base of the shank to engage the back of the handle and limit the swing of the movable jaw and a pin member secured into the said pawl and projecting through a slot in the casing member for taking the pawl out of engagement with the shank.
