Description: Joseph Broadhead and Albert Broadhead, assignee of one-half of the interest, both of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 3rd March, 1925. Filed 14th April, 1924. Serial No. 286,956.

Claim.—1. A hoist comprising an adjustable anchoring member and a pivotally mounted hoisting member adapted to swing outwardly, means for limiting the outward swing of the hoisting member and means for adjusting the length and width of the anchoring member.

2. A hoist of the character described comprising, in combination with a window or the like, an anchoring member adapted to fit inside of the window and a swingingly mounted hoisting member adapted to fit outside the window, means for flexibly securing the hoist to the anchoring member and means connecting the hoist and the anchoring member for limiting the outward swing of the former, means for adjusting the anchoring member to correspond with the window space and means for collapsing the hoist and the anchoring member when not in use.

3. A device of the character described comprising a hoist formed of tubular side members and tubular top and bottom members, solid elbows bolted in said sides and adapted to pivotally engage with the bottom member and adapted to be bolted to the top member, chains carried by said sides adjacent to the top, an anchoring member comprising a floor plate, vertically arranged telescopic posts and a top plate for said posts and means for retaining the posts in adjusted vertical position and means for retaining the posts in adjusted horizontal position and strap securing means connecting the posts with the hoist and means for connecting the hoist chains to the anchoring member.
