Grain Spout Lid (Patent No: 379499)

Description: Having regard to the foregoing disclosure the patent of which this specification forms part confers, subject to the conditions prescribed in the Patent Act, 1935, the exclusive right, privilege and liberty of making, constructing, using and vending to others to be used, the invention as defined in claims by the patentee as follows:-

1. A removable lid or cover with attached arm hinged or fulcrumed on a pivot adjacent to each spout saucer or mouth located in the cupola of a grain elevator and capable of being raised by remote control by means of a cable, wire or similar means of imparting motion, affixed to the said arm and extending to a control board located elsewhere as desired in the said elevator.

2. A removable lid or cover hinged or fulcrumed directly to or on the spout saucer or mouth itself and with attached arm having affixed thereto a cable, wire or similar means of imparting motion and so adapted to raise the said lid or cover by remote control when the said cable or wire is actuated from elsewhere as desired in the said elevator.

3. A removable lid or cover with attached means for raising the same by remote control and so pivotted or mounted with interconnecting elements so adapted that the release of tension results in the said lid being actuated by gravity to return to a closed position.
